1 Introductions, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest
1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting of the Culture, Communications, Welsh Language, Sport, and International Relations Committee.
1.2 The Chair paid tribute to the Welsh Language Commissioner, Aled Roberts, who passed away recently, and agreed to write to his family to pass on the Committee’s condolences.
2 Chair of Sport Wales pre-appointment hearing
2.1 The Committee scrutinised the Welsh Government’s preferred candidate for the position of Chair of Sport Wales.
3 Papers to note
3.1 The papers were noted.
4 Motion under Standing Order 17.42 to resolve to exclude the public from the remainder of the meeting
4.1 The Motion was agreed.
5 Private debrief
5.1 The Committee considered the evidence received.
5.2 Due to reporting timescales, the Committee agreed to consider and agree the Report on the pre-appointment hearing outside of this meeting.
6 Consideration of the letter from the Llywydd in relation to the review of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the UK Government, the Welsh Government, Senedd Cymru and Ofcom
6.1 The Committee noted the draft Memorandum of Understanding between the UK Government, Welsh Government, Senedd Cymru and the Office of Communications.
6.2 The Committee agreed to write to the Welsh Government with its view.
7 Legislative Consent Memorandum on the Cultural Objects (Protection from seizure) Bill: Consideration of draft Report
7.1 The Committee considered the draft Report and agreed for it to be published, subject to minor amendments.
8 Draft strategy and priorities for the Sixth Senedd
8.1 The Committee considered the draft strategy and priorities document and agreed for it to be published.
8.2 The Committee also agreed to write to the Minister for Education and Welsh Language regarding Welsh in Education Strategic Plans (WESPS).
9 Participation in sport in disadvantaged areas: Consideration of approach to engagement
9.1 The Committee noted the letter from the Chair of the Children, Young People and Education Committee regarding its findings of its Sixth Senedd priorities engagement with children and young people.
9.2 The Committee discussed and agreed the approach and method of engagement.
